Celebrating Father's Day with #NauticaforDad + Giveaway!

Father's Day is always a toughie for me. For one, I can never live down the year I chose to attend a play with my Mom, Carrie and Carrie's Mom. What? It was Wicked and only a matinee. Bob's day was hardly interrupted. Besides, I thought he'd enjoy taking care of his 1 and 3 year old toddlers. Father-son time, right? He claims he's gotten over it, but it mysteriously works it's way into every Father's Day agenda conversation.

I never know what to get Bob. He seems to have everything while I on the other hand can never have enough. I'm very easy to please with either a  manicure, Sephora gift card or an hour with no childcare responsibilities. But Bob never seems to want for anything. Or maybe I should clarify and say he never seems to want for little, less expensive things. If I showed up with a huge backhoe or a trailer that could carry a fleet of farm equipment, he'd be very, very excited.  But I'm sorry to say that I'm a horrible wife and that will never happen.

However,  this year is slightly more special. As I've already announced to basically anyone who will listen, Bob is the new Pittsford Mendon Varsity Boy's Basketball Coach. For those of you not local, this is one of two high schools in the town where we live and I like to think of this promotion as a very big deal. A very big deal because he's worked as a respected coach for the last 15 years (for the other town high school) and in my biased opinion, is extremely deserving.

I've taken some time to brainstorm and share some extra special ways to celebrate the Father of my children...Feel free to steal some of these ideas and pass them off as your own.

1. Allow Dad to play an 18 hole round of golf at any point of time during the special celebratory weekend. If his tee time is a 7 am, do not complain when you have to jolt out of bed to attend to the kids whining for waffles.

2. Take on one chore that Dad normally does. For us, it's the "take out the garbage" chore. My husband understands this as the "kitchen" garbage. But I'm going to go above and beyond on his special day and empty the other 6 rooms with trash because I'm just that nice and they're overflowing with a month full of kleenex, q-tips, dryer sheets and hardened gum.

3.  Let the Father of you children sleep in on Father's Day. For me, this won't be hard. Bob sleeps in every single Saturday and Sunday. EXCEPT on Mother's Day. That's the one day a year I refuse to jump out of bed first and have to lay there anxiously awaiting for him to just. get. up.

In all seriousness though, I wanted to get something for Bob that would have some meaning to his newest change and promotion. Nautica Voyage symbolizes the man on a journey and boy what a journey we've had together over the last 9 years of marriage! It speaks to the man who seeks the extraordinary in the everyday and takes chances and challenges head on. Nautica itself is inspired by the water and nature, something that Bob loves and cherishes.
