A Special Edition Gift Box from People Magazine and NBC's The Voice!!

Still finishing your holiday shopping? Me too! I can't believe there are less than 2 more weeks until Christmas. December is flying by! If you are still trying to find the perfect gift for a stylish friend, niece, daughter, sister, mother or even yourself-check out this fashionable special edition gift box from the editors of People and NBC's The Voice. I love the classic red of Julep's Myriam polish and if these Quay sunglasses don't scream Gwen Stefani, than I don't know what does. I was really impressed with this gift box. A lot of times there are only a few items you may use in subscription/gift boxes but I truly feel each item was beautifully curated for the girl who loves style, fashion and beauty! See below to read what People had to say about this special box...

"Love The Voice? We’re fans too! That’s why we curated this limited edition gift box packed with 7 products worth $150 inspired by the hit NBC show for just $49.99. Inside you’ll find an exclusive pair of two-in-one ear jackets from BaubleBar, a cheeky thermal mug from, nail polish (in pitch-perfect scarlet) plus a konjac face sponge from Julep, LAQA & Co.'s newest double-duty pencil for lips and cheeks and a custom-designed Poppin notebook, emblazoned with the show’s mantra: "The Battle Is On." Since no ode to rock star style would be complete without some cool shades, we’ve also included a pair of sunglasses from Quay (a $50 value) so you can dress the part of a V.I.P. without blowing your budget."

The Woodhouse Day Spa: Shop Local for the Holidays!

Have you heard of The Woodhouse Day Spa in Victor? Nestled behind The North Face and Alex and Ani and across from Eastview Mall, The Woodhouse Spa is an upscale delight. The boutique when you walk in is full of gift giving goodies. I am so big on organic, natural and essential oil derived products. I was happy to be introduced to Voya. An organic skin care line from Ireland (and only found at the WH spa), their products incorporate the benefits of seaweed. Why seaweed, you ask?

"Seawater and blood plasma have an almost identical chemical composition. Seaweed filters the ocean for nourishment making it the perfect solution to replenish the body’s minerals. Seaweeds, which are a type of algae, contain strong antioxidants, countless minerals, vitamins and beneficial ingredients in high concentrations to help protect your skin against free radicals, and can aid in treating a number of skin conditions, including psoriasis, eczema and acne. In fact, no plant known has a comparable quantity of minerals and vitamins."

I was guided to the locker room where a robe and slippers were provided and then sipped on some green tea while waiting for my services. One of my very favorite things, unique to WH--they asked if I wanted a warm lavender neck wrap while I was lounging. It was heaven! Lavender is known for it's calming and stress relief properties. Yup-that was something I needed to take home with me! My 6 year old stole it from me last night. Hoping it brings him some calmness since he's basically been bouncing off the walls with Christmas coming up!

My first of two services that I received was the FOUR handed massage. Yes-you read that correctly: 4 hands, 2 therapists. I wasn't sure how that would be at first but I can honestly say these two massage therapists worked in great conjunction and rhythm. The room was relaxing and I enjoyed every second of the 80 minutes. Next, I had the express Hydrafacial. The Hydrafacial reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by a combination of deep cleansing, hydra microdermabrasion and infusion of antioxidants and hyaluronic acid. My skin was positively glowing after a 25 minute treatment. I love facials that are to the point and this one got right down to it! I would definitely go back for both of these services.

The customer service was amazing. It was pouring out during my spa day. As I was getting ready to leave, the manager Abby, got out her umbrella and walked me to my car. As I was leaving, I saw her go over to another customer's car that was just pulling in and she walked that person into the salon. It's the little day to day polite thoughtful gestures that catch my eye and this reiterated what great customer service the Woodhouse Spa offers. I was really impressed with everyone. Great job Woodhouse Spa for having such wonderful customer service in a beautiful relaxing setting!

The BEST eye cream in the world...

I've heard SO much about the REDEFINE Rodan + Fields eye cream, that I called on my friend Jenna Sutliff, R+F consultant, to find out the scoop. She sent me a jar, but literally had to wait until it came back in stock. Apparently there was a statewide shortage of this miracle cream. First of all-y'all know I'm a fan of anything anti-aging so the R+F REDEFINE line is right up my alley. I usually love trying new products but I am a loyal fan to my glycolic eye cream by Mario Badeseu. However, I did love the R+F REDEFINE. It is a medium texture, not too slippery and not too thick. It applies perfectly. I used it consistently for a month and definitely felt a difference in the my eye wrinkles.

This product usually retails for $75 but Jenna is offering my readers a discount! You can purchase for $60 by contacting her directly at

She will also throw in a mini-facial sample. This includes the microdermabrasion paste/scrub, a night renewing serum with retinol for anti-aging and a lip renewing serum that helps with wrinkles, chapped lips and also helps give them a little plump!

If you aren't familiar with Rodan + Fields, it was started by the dermatologists that brought us Proactiv. They have four regimens: Redefine, Soothe, Reverse and Unblemish. The Redefine eye cream is their most popular product! They also have a 3 step shaving regimen for men. What a perfect holiday present! Order by December 11th to have in time for Christmas. And I cannot wait to get my hands on the ACUTE CARE. They are applied directly to the wrinkles you want to target, wear it overnight and wake up to smoother skin. How easy is that?!

Have you tried R+F before? I'd love to hear your favorite products!

MAC Cosmetics at Scott Miller!

A couple of months back, I had the opportunity to visit the new Scott Miller expansion at their Pittsford Salon and got a complimentary make over at the MAC Cosmetics bar. If you haven't been into the new salon-be prepared! As in-bring your wallet because you will want EVERYTHING! I've always been a fan of MAC Cosmetics. I have a ton of their eye shadows and lip sticks, so I couldn't wait to have a full make over with all of their products! My MUA, Jerica, was fantastic. She started with the mineralize foundation and I loved the smooth, even coverage it gave me without looking cakey.  She brushed on some finishing powder which ended up in my "must have" pile. I also bought a highlighting shadow brush. MAC make up brushes are seriously my favorite! I have about 5 #217s. It is the perfect shadow brush. We decided on a neutral eye with a bright red lip for my special date night with my 6 year old. I have to admit, if I could, I would have bought every shadow she used. I find with a lot of eye shadows, you have to rub the powder so hard to get it on to the brush. MAC shadows are so easy to apply and a little bit goes a long way. The matte shadows give the nicest coverage. I never would have thought brown would have looked good on my lids, but I was pleasantly surprised. Jerica also taught me how to do a small wing tip! I was psyched because I love the look but never thought with my eye shape, I could do it. Throughout the whole process, she taught me how to re-create the look. One of the most important aspects of creating make up looks from a MAC make up artist is that they teach you along the way so you don't leave not knowing how to pull it off yourself! We finished with a classic red lip and it was the perfect compliment to my eyes.

Overall, I loved the entire look and wish I could have walked out with ALL of it! I can't wait to go back and try something totally different, like a smokey eye and nude lip. If you are local, you have to stop in from the 4th-6th for their once a year sale!! Run and stock up on MAC and take a look at all of the other great products they have in their new space!!

Girl in the Pink Shoes

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend and holiday! I'll be roasting a turkey in my brand spankin' shiny new double ovens and trying out a NEW recipe for the family. Take a look HERE to see what it is! One of my favorite traditions is drinking my coffee and watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade before the craziness starts.

I had a splurge at Banana Republic the other day when they offered their preferred customers 50% off 5 items! These shoes are gaining quite the attention. When men buying 12 packs of beer stop you at the check out line to say "nice shoes", you know you have a statement making piece on your hands! This color might be sold out but they have a ton of different options. I love the tassels and find them really comfortable to wear at work.

I'm looking for a fun and different drink recipe for Thanksgiving! I would love any ideas on how to put a twist on the bar cart this year!

Redbook Red Box: Beauty Edition!

As you all know, I love to try out new beauty products! I was more than excited when Redbook magazine chose me to review some products in their first annual beauty edition of their red box. All of these products are easily found at your local drug or grocery store and all are from well known brands that have stood the test of time!

Of course I had to try out the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure first! The shades sent to me are so different but perfect for all skin tones. The red is more of a pumpkin color and who doesn't love pumpkin everything this time of year?! Shiny top coats are a must and this one is a definite must HAVE. I've been avoiding the gel manicures even though I love the shine and durability. They just ruin my nails and I already have soft nails to begin with. This top coat transforms regular polish into a gel-like shine without the UV light. The polishes have 7 benefits in the bottle-base coat for staying power, strengthener, growth treatment, color, top coat, chip resistant and gel shine.

One of my biggest beauty secrets of all time is body lotion! I've been slathering it on my skin since high school every single day. Vaseline's Serum Advanced Relief is a great in between lotion. It's not too thin so it has great moisturizing ability but not too thick that you can't rub it in easily. The smell is heaven with scents of rose, amber and vanilla!

Here's something I did not know-Stress sweat smells worse than exercise and heat sweat! Well, Secret Clinical Strength protects against all three! It is available in an invisible solid or a clear gel and gives 4X the sweat protection. So don't sweat it!

I've been into exfoliating lately. Masks, handheld tools, scrubs. This one from Paula's Choice is a liquid. It unclogs pores and diminishes wrinkles while improving skin tone. This product can be used on all skin tones. I have a tendency to be dry and sensitive and this product did not burn, tingle or dry out my skin at all! The green tea extract reduces redness and irritation. It's an easy step to your cleaning regimen. I've been putting it on with a cotton ball before moisturizing. Easy!

I really loved all of these products and would definitely recommend them! Redbook did sponsor this post but of course all opinions are my own!

5 winners will be selected!

Sporty Spice-Nike + Athleta!

HAT: H&M--$12.99!

Well, well, well. Looks who's back! After a 3 month hiatus, I've decided to make a return to The Fluff Report and start back up again. The Summer was so busy! I really wanted to enjoy every second with my family and friends. I think the whole point of blogging is to do it if you have something to say and to be quite honest, I lost what I had to say. I kept thinking of different blog post ideas but I was too exhausted from working and family time to put the necessary energy into it. I feel like I've got a second wind and I'm so glad to be back at it!

If you've been reading TFR from the beginning, you may recall my debate on whether to try the wedge sneaker trend back here. That was almost THREE years ago. I didn't feel I could pull it off then but now is a (somewhat) different story! I started thinking about them again after seeing Sloan-one of my very favorite characters from Entourage-wearing them with black tights in the movie. She was pregnant, which I am not, but she looked so cute! I was inspired again. So I thought about it for only 6 months and finally pulled the trigger! I still feel slightly hesitant wearing them. All of those self doubt questions sneak in...(am I too old, too conservative, too short, do I look squatty, etc)

The verdict is that I love them so who cares! I think they are cute for certain situations and I am happy I got them. THEN I just saw how Blake Lively is proving the high top sneaker trend is STILL in. So if she says so-it has to be true! Check it out HERE! I'm also loving my Athleta drifter tights. I swear they make you look a size smaller!

Another purchase I had been on the hunt for was butt covering open hooded gray sweatshirt to wear with leggings. I LOVE this one from Athleta. It's so comfy and a great layering piece!

Here's to many more blog posts coming your way!!

{GIVEAWAY} with butter | LONDON NEW Bloody Brilliant Lip Crayons!

Products that do double duty are always a favorite of mine. These NEW bloody brilliant lip crayons from butter | LONDON™ act as a liner and lipstick. The color selection is so fun! There are 3 pretty pinky shades-hot pink, coral and lavender and 3 classic shades-red, berry and nude. These crayons glide on so smoothly and have a slight pleasant peppermint smell. Can we talk about the sharpener in the cap?! It is the worst feeling rubbing a half sharpened liner on your lids or lips so I think this feature is ingenious. They all give the right amount of shine and coverage. I always test lipsticks at work. I'm so busy throughout the day running from room to room, talking to patient after patient. It's very hard to find a lip color that stays on perfectly and when they rub off they can leave me with a lip liner ring. These glide on and stay on giving me the best balance of gloss and color.

Want to have your OWN collection of butter | LONDON™ bloody brilliant lip crayons? Enter the giveaway and I'll send you a collection of these 6 FAB colors!

*open to US residents only
*I was given these products from butter|LONDON™ but all opinions are my own

In The Makeup Chair: Chatting with Laurie from The Upstate Stylista

I've often wondered how fun it would be to be a MUA (that would stand for make up artist for all of you who are abbreviation challenged). It would be my second heaven to be surrounded by so many beauty products. Since I probably can't quit my day job, I thought it would be fun to catch up with  local make up artist, Laurie Berry. Laurie writes The Upstate Stylista blog when she's not busy working for Smashbox cosmetics and making women beautiful for their special event. Read on to hear more about Laurie and her career!

1.     How and when did you become a MUA?
I became a makeup artist all on my own actually! I have always been super girly and into makeup since a young age and would constantly practice on myself, family and all my friends! I consider myself a super creative person, so playing with makeup was always a fun way to express myself… trying new colors and new looks! I got more into it professionally when I started working in the beauty industry back in 2007 and would sit in on training that the Estheticians would have with the makeup reps that would come in. I then became certified and trained with Jane IredaleCosmetics as well as Bare Minerals from the two different spas I was working at. I began doing freelance makeup on the side for proms, weddings, formal events, etc. and was offered a job by Bare Minerals as a freelance makeup artist, traveling to all the local Ulta Beauty stores to help promote their brand. I worked for them for quite a while until Smashbox Cosmetics (my favorite makeup brand!) contacted me and offered me a great position with them!

2.     What is your current job?
Currently I am a makeup artist for SmashboxCosmetics and travel to local Ulta Beauty and Sephora stores in the area to help promote the brand. I also do freelance makeup, specializing in bridal, prom and special event makeup and work alongside some of Rochester’s most amazing photographers as a makeup artist for some of their high-end fashion and beauty photo shoots, which is super exciting to do and see all the behind the scenes!

3.     List your favorite 3 products.
Omg… I have SO many favorite products, it’s hard to name just 3….I hear ya! This would be so hard for me too!

4.     What’s one product you can’t live without?
My mojito lip balm by Malin & Goetz! I actually got it in one of my monthly Ipsy bags a few months ago and am OBSESSED with it! ($12) I'm OBSESSED with Ipsy!

5.     What’s your favorite “look” to do?
I looooove doing a dramatic wing-tip liner and bold lip! So timeless and classic. I love channeling everyone’s inner Marilyn Monroe or Audrey Hepburn! OK-you NEED to help me figure out how to do a wing-tip liner. I'm just horrible at it! Tutorial please!

 6.     What’s one beauty trend you wish would go away?
Bold, dramatic, overly penciled/filled in eyebrows! Ladies…. no, just no. Keep them more soft and natural looking.

7.     If you weren’t a MUA you would be______?
A psychologist with my own private practice. I have my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and have always had a huge passion for helping others. I wish I had time to do both…. Then I could not only make people feel beautiful on the outside, but on the inside as well.

8.     What’s your “go to” makeup routine?
Well… this might seem like a lot, but to me this is just my normal, everyday routine!
 Step 1: Moisturize (whole face)
 Step 2: Prime (whole face)
Step 3: Conceal (under eye or any blemishes)
 Step 4: Foundation (whole face)
 Step 5: Blush (cheekbones)
Step 6: Eyelid Primer then Eyeshadow
 Step 7: Eyeliner
 Step 8: Curl eyelashes
Step 9: Eyelash Primer then 2 coats of Mascara
Step 10: Finishing/Setting Powder (whole face)
Step 9: Lip Primer then Lipstick or Tinted Lip Balm
(I only take the time to contour/highlight/bronze if I’m going out with friends, to a wedding/formal event or somewhere fancy!)

9.     Bright or Nude lips?
100% bright lips! No doubt about it! I’m known for always rockin’ a bright bold lip, usually in the pink family! My favorite color to wear is a Barbie-pink shade from MAC called “Candy Yum Yum” ($16) and a bright, fuchsia from Smashbox called “Punch Drunk Matte” ($20). Life is too darn short to wear boring lipstick!

10.  You’re at your best when________.

I’m at home cuddling with my two pitbulls on the couch, in my sweats, hair up in a messy bun, and NO makeup.
