Black, Blue, Plaid & Leopard

[jacket: Gap kids, plaid: Gap, jeans: ON, shoes: nine west (old) GREAT post on leopard flats HERE!!, bracelets: E&O, earrings: C.Wonder, bag: Liebeskind, lip color: Lively by Tarte, sunglasses: RayBan]

I've had a slight obsession with coats this season. Last year around this time, it was boots. This latest find was actually in the KIDS section at Gap. I've never been an XXL in anything, but for kids-it fits perfect. For all you petite ladies out there-I highly suggest taking a look at the kids section. The items are cheaper and often times fit great. Just be watchful of the arm lengths. They can run a little short.

I personally love mixing black and blue. I think it's one style question that people tend to mull over in their minds-wondering if it's ok. The only time I wouldn't mix it, is if I'm wearing black suit pants and navy shoes. I tend to use this pairing for more casual outfits.

Now that my hair is getting long again, I love putting it back in different ways. This was a spur of the moment look using my kid's rainbow loom rubber bands because that's what I had on hand. I used a small strand that I pulled from the back and wrapped it around the bottom pony, then secured with a bobby pin to hide the neon green band.

Have a happy Monday!

From The Ground Fashion Show, Part 1

[vest: Target, top: Paislee boutique, Jeans: ON, Shoes: Target, earrings: FP, bag: FP]

I had so much fun this past Friday, attending part of Rochester's Greentopia fest-From The Ground Fashion Show. I left loving Rochester even more than I already do. There was such a cool vibe from the show's location (outdoor parking garage in High Falls) to the VIP lounge with Social Rochester and of course the eclectic fashion showcase. This year's theme was Alice in Wonderland and took us on a journey to Past, Present, and Future. It was only fitting that my outfit do the same. Most of it was from the past-shoes, top, vest, earrings. Some of it was from the present (as in last week)-bag, jeans. And as for the future? I can definitely see myself rocking the upside-down french braid into a bun look again. Thanks to my co-worker Amy, who whipped it up for me during my lunch break!

Check back tomorrow for another post highlighting the great details from the event!

Beauty Must Haves

2. Tarte
6. Tarte

I love the opportunity to invest in new beauty products and generally like to get some new products each season. Fall has been no exception! I've been wanting to experiment with colored mascara. To be honest, I first tried Ciaté lashlights in Serene. It is applied on top of your regular mascara-tips of lashes only. In my opinion, you couldn't tell I had anything different on. I exchanged it for the Sephora full blown colored mascara and have been much happier. My five year old son asked "Mama-why are your  eyes purple?" For him to notice-I KNOW it's noticeable! Great buy for $15.

Hot pink lips are usually busted out in the warmer months but since I'm in love with my Tarte Matte Lip Surgence in Fiery, I had to get in in Lively. A slight peppermint flavor and it's incredible lasting power makes this product a huge winner for me. $24.00

A sucker for a eye palette, this new BB smokey eye collection looks like heaven. I don't know if I can spend $65 on it, but it's on my wish list!

Beautycounter is known for it's safe ingredients and it's important to me that I'm not slathering chemicals all over my face. This tinted moisturizer is ahhhh-mazing! There are 7 different shades to cover any and everyone. For $38, I definitely think it's worth it!

When my BFF had this BB 24 Karat eye shadow stick in Vegas, I immediately wanted it. Unfortunately, it was one of BB's limited editions and sold out before I could fire up my laptop. Luckily, I was browsing around and saw they brought it back. it's a beautiful shimmery gold and makes the lids pop.

This is my newest venture into eye makeup remover. I am LAY-ZEE at night and it's torture to wash my face. However, I've noticed my face is so dull and blah the next morning. These eye wipes are gentle, smell like essential oils and take it all off reducing my workload. Which is important in my book. $12/30 pack

Treat is a 5 free nail polish company, started in Berlin. It's a mix of Berlin cool and Hollywood glam. The polish is shiny and lasts-proving you don't need formaldehyde and other chemicals to have great nails. Get all 3 for the price of 2 with code BECKYSTREAT, here

Fall Bags

On my search for a Fall bag, I've scoured the magazines, websites and instagrams. I took out the measuring tape to see how wide a bag measured, how long the strap handles hung, and how or if I could fit my laptop in it. I thought about materials-I love suede but with how I treat my bags and how the weather is-I didn't want to invest in something that would most likely get ruined. And of course, I also keep in mind the cost! I know myself a little too well and the "it" bag of the moment will be just that--"of the moment". I wanted quality without breaking the bank too [too] much. I settled on this  gorgeous midnight blue leather Liebeskind shoulder/crossbody bag. One very good thing that came out of my search is that I found multiple bags that I loved. And so here are my top picks across the categories. If you are looking for a specific type of bag-feel free to send me a message. I LOVE searching and finding the perfect item for you!

c'est la vie

[tee: piperlime, belt: limited (similar), skirt: BR, shoes: BCBG, watch: fossil, earrings: S&D]

Transition times are here. I think this "back to school" week for us is going to be one of the hottest we've had in awhile. It's disgustingly humid at 7:30 in the morning and my air conditioning in my car just broke so that's been a ton of fun!

This outfit mixes old (pencil skirt, belt, shoes) with something new-my statement tee from Piperlime. I love the mix of office and casual-good enough for the heat but still professional looking. There are so many statement tees around! I've put together some affordable options on how you can score this look. Click on the pics below and it will take you right to the website!
