Local Loves to try...

1. If you love clothing consignment, Panache in Brighton is one of the best places to go to find luxury treasures. So it's a no brainer that we now have Panache HOME-luxury home consignment. I adored all the unique home furnishings and accessories!

2. As soon as I saw the sign go up, I couldn't wait for Branca to open. Never mind that I haven't made it there yet! Such is life when you have kids and work. This neighborhood Italian eatery is calling Bushnell's Basin home with wood fired pizza, authentic Italian dishes and a drink menu to die for. Ciao!

3. Another place on my radar but have yet to get to is Apogee Wine Bar on Park Ave. Stop in to try some wines that you can't find anywhere else in town while in a trendy atmosphere. And if you were wondering…
ap·o·gee apəjē/- the highest point in the development of something; the climax or culmination.

4. I'm a late bloomer as far as macaroons go. I bought my first 2 from Scratch Bakeshop. I had all intentions of bringing them home from an event to share with my family but once I took a bite, I could not stop myself. It reminded me of the time I ate a loaf of cinnamon bread for dinner when living in Albuquerque. By the time I got home I had scarfed both macaroons while driving. slob. Anyway-then there are the cakes. The cakes Kate and Molly make are unbelievable. Follow them on FB and IG to see for yourself!

5. I've mentioned before that a new optical shop boutique will be opening at Collegetown by the University of Rochester, but there are SO many more amazing specialty shops, restaurants, boutiques that will be home to this wonderful area as well. Take a peek at the website to see what's coming

6. It's never too early to start thinking about the holidays and families in need. One of the aspects of Rochester that I love is that there is an extremely strong sense of community. Consider becoming a part of Making Spirits Bright-a new local non-profit that helps deserving families who are struggling enjoy the holiday season.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Labor Day Weekend! XO

[necklace: BelieveBands, Jumpsuit: BR(factory), Shoes: Ralph Lauren via Marshalls, cluctch: BCBGeneration, Sunglasses: BobbiBrown]

I have always admired women wearing jumpsuits. These women tend to be tall, thin and gorgeous. I never felt I could pull it off until I saw this one at the BR factory store. I tried it on and though...huh, maybe this could actually work. It became a contender for the high school reunion but I settled on something a little more safe. I did wear it out this past weekend to a fundraiser and luckily I did not have to use the bathroom because this black beauty is quite a production to undo.

I absolutely loved these golden heels from Ralph Lauren that I scored for 39.99 at Marshalls. These in fact, did make the reunion cut. I found them on accident-wasn't in the market for golden strappy sandals, but I have worn them a ton since. I love those impulse buys that actually end up working out better than expected.

I absolutely LOVE this necklace from BelieveBands. The story behind the company is a must read (head here to read), especially for anyone who has been touched by cancer or has had a friend experience it. If you have a special bestie that you would walk to the ends of the Earth for, you might tear up after reading about it. Plus they are local and who doesn't love supporting local?! I also loved the new necklace that they just showcased on Instagram a couple weeks ago. I'll regram it for you to see or you can follow them at believebands

My Best Friend's Closet: Late Summer

I've been a little MIA as of the last month. Summer has kept me preoccupied in the best way possible. To be honest, I wanted to spend time with my family without worrying about blog pictures and posts. In that time, we went on vacation to my family cottage, had a high school reunion, celebrated birthdays and spent time at the pool. I love my blog but lately it has been (at time)s an inconvenience. I intended it to be a light, happy, fun part of your day but if I'm not feeling inspired-it can come off flat and I never want it to feel that way. It's a small labor of love and if I'm not genuinely inspired, I don't see any reason to fake it!

But I'm back and with a great post from my BFF-Carrie. There are still more pool days left in the season, so I asked her what she has packed in that beach bag of hers. Not surprising-I want everything! The gorgeous eye shadow palette from BB is so soft and pretty. The Sand version is also beautiful. I recently had my reunion and tried this lip stick in raspberry. It glides on so smooth and looks rich. I'm always open to suggestions for the perfect white tee so I can't wait to invest in this J.Crew vintage v-neck. Pair it with some tie dye board shorts for some late Summer paddleboarding. One of my biggest embarassments is going somewhere and realizing I forgot to shave my legs! So I am loving this Venus travel razor. It is so cute and fits nicely in a cosmetic bag. And last but not least...I've noticed I haven't invested much time in curling my hair this Summer. I'm also in the stage where my kids still beg me to go swimming with them. This Toni&Guy Sea Salt Spray is an easy way to add texture to my hair while I'm letting it dry naturally at the pool after a swim.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your Summer and be sure to stock up on some great end of the season products and sales! XO
