The Fluff Report: Super Fun Chicks

May 27, 2014

Super Fun Chicks

Calling all local girls!! I want to let you in on a super fun event happening in Rochester tomorrow night. Started by pediatric ER doc, Elizabeth Murray, SFPC is a group of women that meet once a month for a different event to help raise money for charity. Often times I want to give back to the community but have a hard time donating large amounts at once. This group is great because you give a little bit each month and the charity changes each time. I was ecstatic when asked to help with May's event at Country Club of Rochester. Working with Ginger, owner of Ruffles Boutique, I will be the emcee at a fantastic fashion show highlighting Spring and Summer trends with clothes from Ruffles. Read below for more information and I do hope you join me! If not, next month's event is at Black Button Distillary and it's co-ed. Support local. Be charitable. Have fun while doing it.

Well, it appears that Spring (and maybe even Summer) has finally sprung! So of course, the only logical question now is what do we wear?!?!?!
Join us for an evening of fashion stars and trend-setters. Our own Ginger Northrup (from Ruffles Boutique) will be teaming up with Rochester Fashion Blogger (and doctor) Becky Nally from theFluff Report to present a fashion show and tips to help you transition into this all too brief season in Upstate NY.

What's the plan?

Owner Ginger Northrop established her personal style while growing up in Connecticut. After graduating from Colgate University, she learned about the fashion world while working as a buyer for Ralph Lauren's corporate offices. With this great experience to help her, she was thrilled to open Ruffles Boutique when she moved to Rochester. Seeing a need for a boutique focused on the young professional woman's needs, Ginger brought her dream to life with this store. She attends frequent buy trips to NYC to ensure the latest styles are represented at Ruffles.

Our Mission

About the Super Chicks

Inspired by the Super Fun Philanthropic Chicks of Scottsdale, our mission is to have fun and make a difference! Rochester has a long history of great philanthropy. However, with the changing economy, many of our amazing founding companies have been lost. While new leaders have started to rise to the occasion, there is still much to be done.
I wanted to create a fun group of like minded women in Rochester dedicated to getting together once a month for networking, field trips and most of all philanthropy. We will have speakers from various non-profits and together we can help raise awareness and funds for these groups. We will all contribute a small donation each month of about $20- $30 to the non-profit of the month and there may be other expenses depending on our venue. (Each location will vary). I hope to build life long friendships for all of us.
In case you missed it, our first event landed us a "Thumbs Up" by the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle. Nice work ladies!
SAVE THE DATE!
Our June event is scheduled for June 27th at the Black Button Distillery. The guys are feeling a little left out, so just this once, we will have a coed event.
