If you love Olivia Pope, you'll want this Scandal Giveaway!

Morning! I'm feeling very generous as of late. Maybe because the sun was shining this weekend and I finally got out to run. twice. My legs are feeling it today but it's amazing how a couple days of exercise can really boost your mood. It's starting back at it that's the hardest part. And of course the temps are going to drop this week, but I'm motivated to keep it up! If you need some motivation, check out last weeks post about getting back in shape, here and here.

Today is the last day to enter to win the Emerson & Oliver beanie. Pick your color: Black or Oxblood. I love these little head warmers. Such great quality. Don't worry: if you don't win, they are only TEN dollars. That is so inexpensive in my opinion and you can still get a ton of use out of it! Buy one HERE

So for my next giveaway, one lucky reader will win my "Olivia Pope is Dope" statement tee. Scandal is back this Thursday so don't miss your chance to win one of these super soft vintage tees! I love mine and I know you will love it too…

Accessories for your Fitness Routine & Emerson and Oliver Giveaway!

 photo 16d4060a-9f52-45f0-bce7-c25ec0d6d6f1.jpg

[Hat: Emerson and Oliver, Bluetooth Earmuffs: 180s, Water Bottle: Hydracoach, Gym Bag: REI, Fitbit flex]

I guess this week is Fitness week on the blog because I can't stop thinking about how I'm going to get ready for my half marathon in April. I wanted to start training in the beginning of the month but the cold temps have left me less than motivated. On Monday, I talked about cute fitness clothes and today it's all about the accessories!

I don't know what I do when I'm running, but I'm always yanking at my headphone cords. Not a problem anymore with my 180s Bluetooth earmuffs. My ears are warm, my music is pumping and my phone is in my pocket without a cord to be seen. Sarah told me about this gym bag that is genius. It hangs vertical in the locker so you have easy access. Bonus: there's a separate place for your sneakers so they don't dirty the rest of your goods.

Has anyone heard of this auto water bottle??!! I'm NEVER drinking enough water. So maybe if I have a water bottle beeping at me and  reminding me to take a drink, I'll actually do it.

Something I'm sure you have heard of…the fitbit. Wear it on your wrist morning, noon and night, it will let you know pretty much everything. How much REM sleep you got, how many steps you took, and how far you've traveled. Tory Burch is collaborating for a new line this Spring. Can we get it with sparkle Tory?

You know I love the beanie my Mom made me but this Emerson and Oliver one is so comfy, warm and flattering. I kinda felt like an instant snowboarder when I put it on. Speaking of snowboarders, can I have the happy pills those Olympic girls are taking? They seem so chill, happy and supportive of each other. Like they are just there to have fun. I have not seen another athlete doing a shoulder shake to the jams while waiting to see if she won a Gold medal. Love them…

So if you want to look like a chill, Olympic snowboarder girlie, enter below for your own E&O beanie! One size fits all and you can pick black or oxblood if you win!

My Best Friend's Closet: Valentine's Day

 photo 86b85812-007a-4d8c-af71-c0a28c199d22.jpg

Valentine's Day will be here in two days. Personally, I'd rather stay in with a nice dinner and a glass (or two) of good wine with my husband and kids. It bothers me that restaurants have fixed menus, crowds of people, and they try to move 'em in and out to make room for the next herd. I remember one Valentine's Day when my husband and I went out to dinner with my brother in law and sister in law. The boys ran into someone who wanted to talk basketball at the bar and T and I ended up at the table alone for most of the night. Lemme tell you, I wasn't the most pleased I've ever been! And that, I think, was the last V-day out to dinner. Now that doesn't mean that I don't like to get gussied up! I love Carrie's suggestions for some LOVEly gifts from or for your special someone. Red, pink, black + white always look pretty when paired together.  Hope your holiday is extra special! XO

[scarf: TrulyAdorn, Jacket: Marmot, sunnies: RayBan, earrings: LilyRain, leggings: DKNY (found on sale for 39.99), boots: Pajar, similar]

It's still in the low teens here and the Olympics have started so I thought a little polar vortex chic would be appropriate for this Monday. I'm still in scarf and puffer mode but instead of my usual black, I wanted to brighten up to try and convince myself that Spring will be here in the near distant future. When I spotted this funnel scarf from TrulyAdorn, it spoke to me! I love the 80's fair isle throwback. So of course I had to get a fun color for my puffer. Don't forget, it's "end of the season" so many places are having sales. This Marmot was 25% off and I'll still get my fair share of use out of it.

When I saw Rachel in her bear boots, I had to have them. Then I found out they were originally 600+ dollars. Yikes! Rachel~the smart shopper that she is, found them at Marshalls and waited. Then she waited a bit more and got them for 39.99! Is that not insane? I told her if she EVER saw those at Marshalls, she better let me know asap and hide them in a corner under a pillow so no one can steal them from me. They were so much fun to wear!

A special Happy Birthday to my youngest, Trevor. He turns 5 today and we are concluding a 3 day birthday extravaganza tonight. One thing Trev always says to me is "I love you like a [insert a delicious sweet treat]" Lately it's been a big chocolate donut. I'll take it. Cherish your children and each day with them!

It doesn't matter if you have a specific Valentine or not. Maybe your plans are to go to a Syracuse game  (Go 'Cuse) versus a romantic dinner for two. You might expect roses or a ring or maybe nothing at all. So here's what I'm saying…Let's not leave all of this to chance. Who says you can't give yourself a gift of love? Certainly not me. So I compiled a few gifts that I would like to have whether someone buys them for me, or I just go out and do it myself. No shame in that game people!

Let me speak for one minute about the Mophie. While at a recent conference, you could see me out in the hallway in-between lectures with my phone plugged into the wall. Then you would see me like that at the airport, desperately looking for an outlet so I could get a little more juice and finish reading US Weekly updates. Enter in the Mophie. It gives you 100% more battery and more storage. Up to 16,000 more photos. Which would give me a ton more room to make my Magisto videos. (if you haven't checked out Magisto-you must!) I'm on a major tech kick right now, so I'd have to say that although I'm a beauty and fashion junkie-this would make the top of my list.

What makes the top of yours?

Beauty Products I'm Loving...

 photo 290c45e1-5362-450b-957e-37b89412cc26.jpg

Devouring new beauty products is a pastime for me. When in Vegas, I couldn't help quizzing my girls about what they had in their make-up bags. I've been on the loose curled bandwagon for awhile but I had to try out the Brocato straightener that Carrie has. An unique feature is the vibration it makes while straightening in order to prevent kinks. Possibly a gimmick, but I loved how my hair looked afterwards. And yes, it was kink free! I coincidentally had the Brocato cloud 9 hotshapes thermal protecting spray in my bag. It makes for a perfect combo!

Another beauty must have for me is bright bold lips for nighttime. I wanted to go with a neutral for my lids and I got to play with Carrie's BobbiBrown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in 24K. I was amazed at how long this shadow stayed on my lids. Perfectly in place the next morning. (shake your finger at me for not washing my face before bed) It never creased and was a really eye brightening color. Would be buying this for my own makeup bag-except it was limited edition and they don't have it anymore! Why do you do that to us Bobbi?! The Naked palette is always a good bet though for pretty neutrals. Naked 3 is the newest version and I'm sure just as good as the other 2.

What do you do when you are stuck in an airport for hours on end with nothing to do? Head to The Body Shop of course! I hadn't been in one of these stores in a very long time, but I had so much fun shopping around. Were you a fan of the lip smackers roll on lip gloss as a child? I have a soft spot for those cute little pocket glosses so I had to buy this coconut flavored one for $3.00. Another purchase that I just had to have was the almond oil cuticle stick. Click it like a pen to dispense the oil and brush on nails. All of my other nail oils are in containers and this is something I can easily do wherever, whenever. Keep your eyes peeled for my Feb. 5th post when i unveil the Rio collection from OPI. This coral color will definitely be on your must have list for Spring!
