The Fluff Report: Pantone + Sephora = Color IQ

Pantone + Sephora = Color IQ

Aahhh...liquid foundation...Don't you feel this is the hardest beauty product to buy for yourself? I never know what shade will blend in best and not leave the proverbial dreaded line in the sand, separating my jaw from my neck. The color I was using made me look yellow and even lightened my skin tone {jaundice...not quite the look I was going for}. It was awful. And it was chosen by someone in the store. An expert of sorts. I kept trying to make it work, thinking that the girl that helped me, knew something I didn't. But alas, I had to take it back. I was excited to once I heard about the new Sephora and Pantone Color IQ. Here is what you need to know...

What is Color IQ? It is a free service that uses a device to scan the surface of your skin, find your color IQ number and then find your precise foundation match. It's a science folks.

How does it work? The Color IQ device captures in pitch darkness allowing the tool to focus on the skin's physiology while eliminating variables that can affect shade selection.

How do I get the Color IQ experience? Head on over to your local Sephora store. Your face must be bare to get the best effect. Sit down with a consultant and have him/her scan your skin. Once you get your Color IQ number, the consultant will plug it into the computer and all of your matches will pop up. What I found most helpful was then the consultant's recommendations on the different types of foundations. For example, which had the nicest finish or worked best with my skin type.

The match I went with? I decided to try the Diorskin Nude Foundation. I've only been using it a few days but I absolutely love the way it makes my skin look and feel. I think I've finally met my match!

Have a fantastic weekend! And don't forget to follow The Fluff on Twitter, Pinterest and Facebook
